Simple, practical tools for transmuting doubt into confidence

When you’re in a place of self-doubt it can affect how you show up in your heart-centred business as it’s difficult to take action and feel motivated when you don’t believe in your abilities. In today’s blog, I’m going to give you some practical tools for transmuting your doubt into confidence, so you can feel more empowered to serve your clients with courage and confidence.

Future Visualisation

A powerful technique I use with my clients to bypass their current thinking and feelings of self-doubt is to visualise their future as if they’ve already achieved their desires. It’s a powerful way to focus on how you want to feel once you’ve achieved your goals.?

Be kind to yourself and find five minutes a day to visualise your future self and notice what you see, hear and feel. But first get clear on the goal that you want to achieve and why, then start visualising it. Ask yourself, if you had nothing holding you back, what would you want to achieve in your business that you don’t already have?

Get really focused on the detail in your vision. What are you wearing, who’s around you and how are you standing? Notice what you hear. Are others talking, are you talking, what’s being said? Do you hear any other sounds around you? What emotions do you feel? Perhaps joy, happiness, contentment or feeling confident and empowered. Then ask your future self, if she had a message for you, what would it be?

As your mind is programmed through words and images, the more you use this technique, the more you’ll transmute from doubt into confidence and have the courage to pursue your business goals and bypass your limiting beliefs that are keeping you stuck.

Practice Self-Compassion

Choose love over fear and practice self-compassion. When you focus on fear it will bring out your feelings of doubt and paralysis you from taking action. Practice self-compassion by reading positive affirmations written as if you’ve already achieved your goal i.e. I have or I am. Have them somewhere you can see them everyday and don’t worry about what others may think of you. In fact it’s likely they’ll be impressed with your commitment to yourself and your consistent mindset practice.

Talk to yourself in the mirror looking at yourself in your eyes and say ‘I love you’. This might be quite difficult at first but the more you do it the easier it gets. You deserve love and respect and to feel good feeling thoughts about yourself, you get to rewrite your story. When you do notice yourself falling into a negative thought spiral, remind yourself that you get to choose again.

Pay attention to your negative thought patterns and ask yourself ‘is this thought serving me?’. The answer will be no. Ask yourself what is the next best feeling thought you can choose? Say that thought out loud or in your head and really focus on how it feels to say that. Really embody it as your current day truth.

Focus on your gifts & strengths

A powerful way to transmute from doubt into confidence is being intentional with focusing on your unique gifts and strengths. When was the last time you sat down and wrote out a list of your gifts and strengths? Sometimes things are so innate in us that we don’t realise that other people can’t do what we can.

Maybe you are brilliant at idea generation or are great at holding space and listening to others. Or in my case I’m brilliant at joining the dots for my clients between their current day beliefs and the limiting beliefs they formed in their childhood, so they can heal their core beliefs.

When we focus on our gifts and strengths it literally creates a powerful physiological reaction in our body and we feel more positive, inspired and empowered. Give it a go and see for yourself!
