Write blogs.

Write a lot of blogs

This is the most common advice out there for optimizing your website for Google search, especially if you are looking to rank up a SAAS website.

Sure, writing blogs is an effective strategy.

72% of online marketers describe content creation as their most effective SEO tactic.

But creating a blog is a very time-consuming process.

From finding the right keywords, searching for relevant topics that suit the keyword, digging up competitor blogs, writing the blog, editing the blog, proofreading the blog, making the creatives, and finally promoting the blog — both on social media and through backlinks from other blogs. z

That’s a lot of work!!

But, here is an easier SEO advice, you won’t find in any of those ‘10 SEO tips’ blogs.

So, the other day I was doing some content research for a client on Ahref.

The product was an HR management software for startups and SMEs.

And I came across this -

The website of the SAAS startup, BambooHR, has a page exclusively for the definition of a Human Resources Information System (HRIS).

When I explored further I found this -

They have an exclusive section on their website (www.bamboohr.com/hr-glossary ), dedicated to defining terms related to HR.

It's called an HR glossary.

Well, I was like —

Wow, good job!

This is an excellent way to stuff a lot of keywords naturally.

Not only that, Google prefers this format for featured snippet results.

Thirdly, this form of content is futuristic.

Voice search is the future and ranks content that is in the form of questions and answers.

You could create Q/A forms of content for topics related to your industry.

Suppose you are selling a sales software, you can create content like ‘ What is a CRM’, ‘What is sales prospecting’, and so on.

Now, the point of this article is not to say that blogs are not useful.

But having a glossary of terms related to the industry just gives a strong foundation to build the rest of your SEO activities.

It’s a simple but powerful tactic.

Have you come across any innovative SEO techniques lately?

That's true Greeshma Anantharaman, by creating a useful and well-optimized glossary or FAQ page you are not only improving your Google ranking but also building trust with customers, by making things more accessible for them.

Giving structure to the content done right. In a way, it's similar to FAQs.
