A Simple, But Powerful, Sales Lesson

A Simple, But Powerful, Sales Lesson

I thought I would send you a quick story with a power lesson for managers and sales people.

 A POP AND A TEAR

During my teenage years I was a competitive gymnast. In my early twenties I was hired to be an acrobat and stunt performer at Walt Disney World in Florida. I have tried to stay active during the last 20 years and I consider myself to still be in “fairly” good shape. However, two weeks ago I was asked by a friend for some impromptu tumbling and flips for a group.

I agreed and started warming up. I stretched out, did some light tumbling passes and then started doing some bigger flips to get ready. During my last warm up tumbling pass I felt a pop and a tear in my right ankle. I collapsed to the ground and quickly grabbed my ankle and immediately knew that I just tore my Achilles tendon. Bad day starts here…

Lucky it was not ruptured completely and no surgery was required. But, my-oh-my did it hurt (and still does!)! Needless to say, the impromptu acrobatic show for the group did not happen…

I hope your day is going much better than mine was two weeks ago when this happened!
