Simple lesson in fundraising

I’ve spent the last few months getting acclimated to leading a new organization. The people who work here are full of enthusiasm and continue to push forward even though the pandemic has placed many hurdles in their path.

One new thing we implemented is to give everyone who comes in a general sense of what we do and who is served. This is an arts organization in a very busy arts district and that was not always apparent to the guests who came in.

The guests have responded very well to this information and, when given a chance, have been very generous. Our donations are up 2000%. Yes, 2000%.

What have we learned from this? Let people know your story. Then ask. It is pretty simple.
