A simple framework to master any habit you want (literally)

You mean, another new year resolution that I might fail at?

Naah! This is for real and it’s quite simple if you stick with it for just a few days.

James Clear, the NYT best-selling author of Atomic Habits, puts it this way:

“Every action you take is a vote for the type of person you wish to become. No single instance will transform your beliefs, but as the votes build up, so does the evidence of your new identity.”

Ok, spill the beans!

Here it is.

Step 1: Choose just one habit that is simple to do (let’s say it’s journaling)

Step 2: Write it down in a notebook. That always makes you a bit serious about the habit

Step 3: Tell one person, maybe to your spouse or closest friend. That creates accountability.

Step 4: Let your accountability partner know daily how you doing (like text) or call your mom and she is really proud of you :)

Step 5: Reward yourself every few days if you hit a milestone. You know like, get an ice-cream if you journal for 5 days straight! This might be a bad idea if weight loss is your goal. So just pick a reward that truly helps you celebrate YOU!

So to master any habit here's your formula:

One habit * Daily progress

I think I can do this thing.

Exactly! If the NEW habit makes you better, you will automatically keep doing it. If not, choose another and start over.

LeaderPoint: Habit forming is hard but when you do it in small increments, you can master it before you know it.
