Simple is Difficult!

This week India crossed Big Milestone of administering over one billion vaccine doses through Janbhagidari. It was a Simple idea of vaccinating as many against all odds and difficulty with public participation. When I say Simple is Difficult, I am simply directing our attention towards the complex solutions and structures we construct resulting in complicating our work & life. A simple person, a simple problem, a simple solution -we place little value on simple. Instead, we hold in high regard the complex, because complexity suggests hard work, commitment, intelligence, diligence, and focus. We need complexity even while we crave simplicity. Simple Ideas are often Difficult to Imagine & Execute.
"Simple can be harder than the complex: You have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple. But it’s worth it in the end because once you get there, you can move mountains.” ~ Steve Jobs.
When we are looking at a big problem it’s easy to be overcome by the volume of information, the volume of data, the volume of inputs. It’s the rare mind that can look at a problem as a whole and intuit a simple solution. At Jeevitam, we are trying to solve the big problem of helping vulnerable segments and Entry Level Work Seekers find sustainable livelihoods by using simple solution of Voice as a Interface. However it has been indeed a difficult journey to Execute the Simple Idea of Voice based registration and Voice based match making helping people who are not so educated, not having access to Internet/smartphone, need to be spoken in their native language, help find sustainable livelihoods.

"Most people understand complexity as intelligence, if they make themselves difficult they are supposed to be intelligent, making a simple thing difficult is not intelligence, making a very complex thing simple is intelligence"~ Sadhguru.
Over the Years I have learnt that we have to keep repeating our Simple Idea again and again till it gets accepted and executed. I believe if we need to scale up any idea, it indeed has to be very very simple. It is not Simple to be Simple, we will have to go through our journey of difficulties. Our journey can be inspired by other people sharing stories of simplicity, but ultimately we will find a version of simplicity that best fits our life & work. So if We want to do something innovative and unique, I suggest we try a Simple Idea that we can Execute Brilliantly. Making it Difficult is Simple. Keeping it Simple is Difficult. Let's All Keep it Simple!
