Simonsvlei gives back

When you have an animal at home, or you know of somebody that has pets, it always warms a heart to know that, they are well taken care of. Many times, you see a dog or a cat on the street, and you wonder where do they end up. The SPCA Witbank, has been filling the void in so many animals lives on a daily basis. Making sure they are warm, fed, washed and groomed, not to speak or mention when they get ill.

Simonsvlei, IPP & FKN Army, teamed up earlier this year in April to host a golf day, raising funds for various causes, in and around the Mpumalanga area. All three companies, have various charities they will be donating in the coming months, one of which is the SPCA where, the team handed over a R30 000 cheque, for the needs of the SPCA.“ This is what FKN Army does. We help others that cannot help themselves and are not in the position for funding to do so” says Karlien Wenzel, one of the founding members of FKN Army. That was the goal for the golf day, all the parties, want to help, especially in the months ahead, as winter is starting to settle in.

“I have a few dogs and pets myself, and have a very soft spot for the SPCA. The work they do here everyday, is something I admire, and we can see the struggle that they go through, keeping up with the bills, maintains, staff and more. It is a privilege for Simonsvlei to be donating along with IPP for this cause. “ Natasha Grundy, National Sales Manager for Simonsvlei adds. “ We want to encourage people to keep on donating, calling and asking what the needs are and helping the SPCA in any way possible. A little, goes a long way, just like we at Simonsvlei, say - we are more than wine. We want to build our community and support where we can as people support us”

Denise Grobler, accepted the cheque on behalf of the organization, saying in an interview, that this will help on various elements of the SPCA.

Being apart of something greater than ourselves, like giving, is always a way to bring people together. Simonsvlei & IPP will partner again next year for a golf day at Middelburg Golf Club on 18 April 2025.
