Simon ‘Everywhere’ McLennan
When people say ‘I see your drinks everywhere’, it’s reassuring for two reasons; our branding is working hard, and so is our team.?
The true test of a brands strength is the contest to stand out and be chosen in a crowded supermarket. It’s something every growing food and beverage company struggles with as they move up the league table from the corner store to the big time.
Karma Drinks distinctive products and high performing Kiwi sales team, led by Simon McLennan and James Boshier , are scoring goals in this competition for choice.?
Over the past few years Simon has honed our skills to lift performance in the off-trade. Under the tutelage of our CEO Ben Dando , he's perfected our pack format, pricing strategy, distribution and presentation to be the ethical soft drink Kiwi customers can pick up and take home.?Our scoreboard is testament to the teams combined talents — we’ve had the best Christmas sales ever in Aotearoa.
Nailing this combination of awareness and availability is the ultimate in sales and marketing teamwork, and when someone says ‘I see your drinks everywhere’, although it may not be entirely accurate, it’s a compliment to the whole crew.?
The Ehrenberg-Bass Institute say the recipe for growth is to build a brand’s penetration by increasing its mental and physical availability. Mental availability is when a brand pops up in your mind, in our case it’s most salient if this happens when you’re thirsty. Physical availability means being easy to find.?

Most of the time when you’re in a cafe, restaurant or grocery store you don’t have the choice of an ethical soft drink like Karma, you get whatever brand is on the menu or shelf.
But thanks to Simon, James, and our sales and marketing stars, there are a whole lot more occasions reasons to remember Karma Drinks, and menus and shelves you can find them — if you can’t, please let us know or feel free pester them on our behalf.
Anyway, there is a point to this. ?Obvously we have a great sales team, but I’m singling out Simon McLennan to sing his praises.?
Having played his heart out at Karma he’s moving on up to a new challenge as GM at Manuka Health where I’m sure he’ll score even more goals. He can hang up his well worn Karma Drinks t shirt knowing he’s done the team and the brand proud.?
Best of luck mate.

2 年Great to see a business celebrating a departure like this. Very well said Simon Coley. Karma & Simon McLennan have had a mutually beneficial relationship and it is great now to see successful talent continuing its growth journey while I am sure new talent will also arrive at Karma
