I am a mess and reflecting a lot! I have long written about the similarities between motherhood (parenthood) and management.?
When listening?to?the book?Grit, I learned that the word?parenting?is actually derived from Latin and means?to bring forth.?
I?am bringing him forth into the world. Leaders bring forth their people to execute, impact, and achieve.?
I started delegating much more over the last year.?I monitored and built his confidence while trying not to micromanage.?

I listened to?this, and I thought, I sure hope I have done that. I also thought what she is describing is the epitome of a Connected Leader. Connecting and caring about those that you are leading. It's the most extreme test of one's abilities and capabilities to inspire, coach and help others grow, a great opportunity to lead with empathy and compassion, creating psicological safety and trust to unleash human potential. A role with few rivals that can enrich our leadership and vice versa. ??

2 个月Absolutely see the connection between parenting and leadership! Both require balancing empathy with clear boundaries. Like with my daughter... addressing emotions first, then guiding towards solutions, works wonders. Whether at home or in the workplace, the key is to pause, reflect, and shift from reaction to resolution. Consistency and understanding build trust and foster growth in both environments.
