SIM Cards: From Standard to Nano, Adapters, Readers and More...
With the exponential rise of cellular phone users has come the increase in competition of cellular phone service providers, and never ending list of phone models. Just when you thought you knew how to use your mobile, a new and improved version appears on the market. Related links can be easily Googled.
Along with the phone, new applications, sim cards, chargers, and adaptive gadgets also appear. Everything from camera lenses, sim cards and sim readers or sim reprogrammable software. It has become very easy to unblock your mobile regardless of it being under contract and your service provider's hinderance.
The best way of getting your mobile "unlocked" is while your account is good standing with your current provider. Nevertheless, that is not the only way. Some companies provide the unlocking services to everyone, regardless of account status. In some cases, if the phone has been "black listed" you will not be able to reconnect it with another service provider for use in the US. However, you will be able to sell it to a consumer outside the US for much more... and in many cases you will be able to continue using it with another carrier.
There are websites you can access that will tell you if your phone is "black listed" or serviceable. The downside to this is you will lose your number. Yet, to every downside, there is an upside. Before changing carrier you can opt to move/transfer your number. Keep in mind you are only going to transfer the number at this time, not the carrier and only active numbers can be transferred. There are companies that will transfer the "number." These are NOT cellular service providers but at least the number will remain available to you. After you transfer the number you can proceed with other changes.
One thing I highly recommend, regardless of how happy or dissatisfied you may be with your current carrier, is to get a "free" google phone number. This number can and should be used as your regular number. It is yours to keep forever! It can be connected to ring on any phone you desire. So if you change carriers, cancel your service or it gets disconnected for any reason, your Google number will still be available. All your contacts can continue reaching you on your new device without interruption.
There are an infinite amount of SIM cards available, including adapters for most cellular phones.
