Silvia's Lessons from Sea Turtles
Sea turtles lay their eggs in the sand and then they travel back to the water. When the eggs hatch, they start their life by digging themselves out of a grave. Without any guidance or protection they have to make a mad dash to the ocean.
To get there, they are immediately fending off all these predators and hopefully are following the right light to the water. Or maybe for some reason they just don't go. If they stay, they will die, so they HAVE to make it to the water.
But even if they make it to the water, they could ultimately not make it. And this alludes to a key principle for our lives: Life is fair.
There's nothing more unfair than being born one of the slowest creatures on earth and needing to run for your life on the day your are born. Life is fair because it is unfair to everyone. Everybody has their adversity and their obstacles.
Everyone of them is born with the ability to run to the water. Everyone of them is born knowing that they are meant to run to the water, to that horizon. Their life is waiting for them there. Some of them might get turned around and loose their way, be devoured, or they just don't run. But everyone of them is born out of the same nest with the same odds.

We aren't different.
Every single one of us is born with an ability, with a gift, without exception. But in order to live fully in that gift we have to make it to the water. The gift is free, but there's a cost to use it and we pay that cost as we run to the water.
We encounter our own predators such as fear, doubt, illness, opposition, negative self talk... all of these things that are coming for us. Because of that, many of us won't make it to the water. We'll settle and let our dreams die on the sand. And that's why every single one of us is born with a gift - because life plays the odds.
