The Silver Lining....

I’d love to share a story with the aim of inspiring a little hope in everyone who might be affected by the current COVID-19 crisis. 

The idea of Ayana Holding was conceived in 2009, the peak of the financial crisis where everyone feared of either losing their jobs or small business shutting doors much like what we’re facing today as a result of COVID 19. 

I remember sitting at my office desk at my corporate job anxious about being made redundant, with barely any savings. 

The initial business idea was to offer value engineering to real estate developers as the whole construction industry came to a halt. 

For 3 years, I knocked on door after door, until finally, someone agreed to sign a contract with nominal fee to provide value engineering services for a construction project in Dubai Marina. Slowly but surely, we secured more contracts as we had something to show for. 

Finally after few years of double shifts between my corporate job & the new business concept, I was able to pull a bit of savings together and decided to take the risk and leave my full time job. 

Since then we were able to create 15 different businesses across all real estate sectors around the globe and have employed hundreds of great minds. 

The reason I decided to post this is because I see many of friends and colleagues around the world, living in fear of losing their jobs. I just want you to know, that every crisis comes with an opportunity for growth. 

And while I am no expert in economics, my understanding is that the recovery from Covid-19 will be much faster than the Financial Crisis of 2008, as there is no fundamental issue with the global economy.

So keep your heads up and try to see beyond the crisis. This may be a door into something much bigger and better for you as it was for me in the previous crisis.
