The silver-lining among Corona clouds

We see that the stocks of the houses are going to a low and the stock markets are going a deep dive too.

We find that the bodies around the world are waiting for their burial while the alive ones are struggling to be safe at their homes.

The travel bans are still not able to restrict the deadly virus as desired and on the other hand, people are taking all the means to reach to their respective hometowns.

The social gatherings are restricted and yet the corona warriors are taking the situation head-on.

We are waiting to gather the good news about the vaccines and the alternative medications are getting a new boost.

We all are waiting to come out of this pandemic situation and there is a hope that keeps us positive and we all should take the situation the same way only for there is a small yet a silver line with an upper curve during this global pandemic.

This silver line very innocently says that the world is not coming to an end and we have a long life to live.

The pessimism has been there since ages and those with these mindsets would coin and bang on issues like pollution, wildlife problems, population explosion, global warming, increased crime rates, accidents, abnormal deaths etc. with hardly any solutions and/or suggestions to make. More of air than substance, you see.

Coronavirus has given a curb and cure for most of these issues at least for the time being. However, during this ugly scenario, we find that life expectancy is going to be better as there is more awareness about health care.

Education has gone online with a replay of recordings. A study from home is equally a truth now for many of us.

Work from home has seen its boom and is likely to be there with the unwarranted costs coming down.

Journalists, writers and bloggers have been writing with a bit of freedom and free mind. The readers are having it at their ease too.

However, I would like to discuss the other global aspects which are normally not talked about to the magnitude as desired.

Some of the positives are that even beyond Corona times, there has been a reduced infant mortality rate across the globe. There would be a lot many who would underline with red ink that the infant mortality rate is still there in 13 countries or so. Just to remind that it was around 125 countries way back in 1965.

While they would quote that 40% of the girls don’t get an education while the positives would put it as that 60% of the girls now have access to education.

The world witnesses death of around 4 million babies while the positive aspect is that it has reduced by approx. 60% in the last seven decades. This death toll is likely to come down because of the reach of vaccines to the infants.

Therefore, I always say that positivity is felt by the people with a positive mindset though it is equally a harsh truth of all times that negativity sells and is therefore propagated. But it hardly surpasses my territory. I highlight that the deaths owing to disasters has reduced by 75% than in the last century.

People would crib about a rising population while I would lovingly say that the world population will flatten out after the year 2060 as people would have more access to education and healthcare. Family planning would be at its peak during those years.

The crime numbers have gone to a low during recent times and very low during corona times.

While we find taking the road-ways to reach their homes but it is going to set up a new economic paradigm in times to come.

Local business, indigenous productions, traditional products and purchase of Indian goods are likely to get boom courtesy the mind-shifts as seen during this lockdown.

In totality, the majority are in the mood to take it positively and those who are not with the majority are a minority in fact.
