Silly Season

It will soon be time for the VOA to start organising their Christmas get together at Circus Circus but it seems that Silly Season has started early this year.

I have just received, anonymously, an e-mail from the VOA stating that they have “revoked your Property Claim and cancelled your Challenge case”. This is in respect of a property that was claimed over 12 months ago (by submitting a copy of the rate bill) and both a Check and a Challenge had previously been processed.

No explanation, no reasoning, no other information provided, no request for clarification. Just a random, faceless message, cancelling the Challenge! Perhaps if they spent more of their resources on dealing with Challenges, rather than bureaucracy, there would be less of a backlog and a delay in getting cases cleared.

I assume that this is one of the ways that the VOA can achieve their (not so secret) target of limiting the amount of RV reduction they concede.
