Eliminate Pollution And Flashover?in Three Ways


#Flashover occurs under conditions of persistent fog, continuous rain, condensation and melting ice and snow, accounting for 6% of the total identified flashover.?Although some of the causes are controversial, it is biased to believe that the use of composite #insulators can prevent pollution flashover.?


In fact, if the dirty layer on the surface of silicone rubber is too thick, its #hydrophobicity will gradually weaken or even temporarily disappear under the humid?conditions for a long time. Different contaminants also have a significant impact on the migration?of hydrophobicity.?Therefore, the salt density of insulator string should be measured regularly, and the leakage current recorder is recommended to?install if conditions permit, with which the operation of polluted insulators can be monitored according to the amplitude and pulse counts?of leakage current, and the warning signal can be sent out in time.


There are three?ways to?eliminate pollution and flashover:

1.?Increase?the?number of sheds of the?insulators, such as 4~5?sheds for 35kV lines and 8~10?sheds?for 110kV lines.

2.?Adopt the pollution resistance suspension insulator?with extended shed.

3.?Develop special shed design.
