Silicon manganese nitride as a steelmaking additive
Nitride alloy is an additive in metallurgical production. In recent years, the special effects of nitrogen ferro alloys have gradually received by metallurgical industry, and a series of high-nitrogen iron alloys have been developed, such as silicon manganese nitride, vanadium nitride, manganese nitride, ferrochromium nitride, and nitrided ferrosilicon and so on. Silicon manganese nitride is one of the main products of our factory.
The main substances in silicon manganese nitride are manganese nitride and silicon nitride. Manganese plays a role in deoxidation, desulfurization and alloying in steelmaking. Manganese can eliminate or weaken the hot brittleness caused by sulfur, thereby improving the hot workability of the steel; it can also refine the pearlite grains and increase the strength of the pearlite steel, and at the same time can improve the hardenability of the steel. Silicon nitride has high temperature thermal stability, thermal shock resistance, thermal shock resistance, chemical stability, and good electrical insulation and rigidity. The silicon-manganese nitride alloy is compatible with the special properties of silicon nitride and manganese nitride, and its performance is even better when silicon, manganese and nitrogen are combined at the same time.

Silicon manganese nitride is mainly composed of Si3N4 and Mn5N2, usually as a nitrogen-increasing agent for oriented silicon steel, high-strength steel, stainless steel ect.?The nitrogen of manganese is easy to be decomposed into molten steel, the recovery of nitrogen is high, the fluctuation range of [ n ] in Molten Steel is small, and the strengthening cost is low.
There are currently five preparation methods for silicon-manganese nitride alloys: vacuum sintering, secondary nitriding, microwave synthesis, high-temperature self-propagating synthesis and atmospheric one-step synthesis. Silicon manganese nitride is a new type of steel additive. Compared with conventional nitride alloys, it has excellent performance and application advantages. Silicon manganese nitride has rapid heat resistance, thermal conductivity, chemical stability and small thermal expansion. Its strong microalloying effect and nitrogen increasing effect have been widely used in oriented silicon steel, HRB400 and above rebar steel bars, etc. The application has a very large market demand.
