Silicon Block Party

Last night I went to the Silicon Block Party run by IE in Richmond.

They had a fantastic panel of speakers. Karen Stocks , Susan Brown, Alysha Naples. 

All of them spoke about very different stories and inspired some thought provoking insights into flexible working, design thinking, women in technology and the potential evils in technology aka Black Mirror.

Other than having Alysha confirm the tech behind Magic Leap is real, what I was most impressed by was how IE run this event that brings together the start-up and enterprise community in a relaxed atmosphere to share ideas.

These functions are not cheap to run and along with the sponsors they bring in, the idea of giving back to the community like this is really great to see. 

My only regret for the evening was that I drove my car instead of getting an Uber....
