The UK police, who are currently dealing with riots across the nation, are now realising that they need a national image database, similar to the fingerprint and DNA databases. Unlike fingerprints and DNA, images are stored in silos, in different places by different police forces. If facial recognition is used, it is done in a piecemeal fashion. A suspect could have a mugshot taken today and be caught on CCTV tomorrow (in exactly the same clothes, in the same town) but the two images are very unlikely be matched. Likewise, images not matched today are just stored away - if the suspect is photographed a week later, it will not be linked. I am looking for a police force to trial a new database (for free). https://lnkd.in/gJrnvbg8 Got to be tough to detect these wireless based attacks, and how would that alerting work? This should be noisy on a radio / RF level. Another good reason to learn HAM operations possibly? Low tech, neighborhood watch systems can detect and respond to these methods.
