Silent Spring
Reading Rachel Carson's Silent Spring changed my life. This powerful novel showcases the devastating impact of modern industrialized agriculture on our environment and all living things.
The health of our planet depends on changing the way we feed ourselves. A food system that relies on chemical intervention, monocropping, and animal confinement is a broken one.
By voting with our dollars for Regenerative Organic agriculture, we empower producers that farm and ranch in harmony with nature to conserve soil and our environment for future generations.
Thank you for blazing the trail, Rachel!

1 年Very true indeed Phil Graves ! It has become more important to vote with our dollars every day and make better choices for a more sustainable future. Thanks for shining a light on this and for the work that you are doing.

1 年Not only a brilliant naturalist but also a spectacular writer who still manages to convey that initial sense of wonder in the natural world that children discover, reawakening all our senses. Linda Lear’s fantastic biography further renewed that love affair and Robert Musil’s Rachel Carson and Her Sisters provides rich detail on her wider set and influences on her.

1 年The Fable for Tomorrow section is arguably more haunting today than in 1962. Maybe the poisons are different.

1 年Hey Phil. Silent Spring was hugely impactful for me as well. That and Desert Solitaire by Ed Abbey sent me down the path I'm on today. So much of what they wrote about is more important today than at any other time in history. Thanks for sharing!
