A Silent Organic Revolution

What started as a sprint has now turned into a silent revolution. 

Back in the late winter of 2014, I got in touch with 2 organic farmers and asked them about their issues - suicides and loan defaults where common then (and is prevalent today as well). 

What they told me set me thinking - can we help create an organic products marketplace for the farmers? Can we enable them to create value additions with agricultural produce that can truly empower them to be self-sustainable? 

Plagued with questions and no answers, I set out to find other marginalized organic farmers who would be willing to join our revolt. I not only found 8, I found 800 and above - and it grew - exponentially, excruciatingly to the silent revolution it is today. 

As I speak, there are 10+ NGOs connected to us, 47+ self-help groups headed by women entrepreneurs associated with us, enabling the farmers to create all sorts of value additions with their agricultural produce. 

Tribals from Ooty and Kollimalai have joined our mission, and we move forward with vigor, pride and immense happiness at how the world responds to this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create an organic revolution in India. 

Everyone in this co-operative is a Superhero in this country - they've striven to become self-sustainable, to produce genuine organic products with all their heart, to be fascinated by how technology can help them overcome challenges of nature and destiny. Earning more profits from selling to customers online and offline hasn't made them greedy - infact they are even more thrilled, even more honest at putting in that incredible hustle to get the best products out to you, each and every time. Indian Superheroes - the name of our social enterprise can never be more apt.
