Silent Heroes in the society
Great to see a lot of corporate leaders have posted their welcome and celebrate International Women Day.
As a mother and working professional, I also like to share my reflections about women’s resilience and fortitude.
8th of March, I had a whole day travel and returned to Sweden midnight. After 5 hours sleep, I drove my daughter and her team to the national competition. When we arrived 7:30am, there were already a lot of enthusiastic mothers and daughters (Artistic Swimming is female domain sport), some traveled even from cities which are more than 200kw from Stockholm!
Artistic swimming competition requires certain level of make up and hair up and show your full confidence during the walk and swimming performance. The competition is demanding. Many clubs arrange 4 to 6 times training per week. It is always surprised me how other girls and mothers/parents find the time to train and win competition. The competitions usually take 1- or 2-days during one weekend, while more than 10 competitions a year. If a family has more than one child and interested in Sport, helping kids to training and competition is a really demanding task to parents.
I have seen many super mums around me, taking good care of multiple kids and their professional work. They are the true and silent heroes in the society. Thanks to these heroes, our new generations develop healthy and confidently, as well as energize our society.
Thanks for reading this late comment about International Women Day!
