Silencing Your Inner Critic: A Guide for Visionary Leaders
Halle Eavelyn
Ready for that quantum leap? Been through alll the coaching and still haven’t gotten to where you want? You deserve better. Message me.
You’re out there every day, taking action, slaying dragons, and working on your best self! So why does self-doubt have to creep in and how is it that unchecked, it can be our most formidable opponent?
As accomplished women on the leading edge of our industries, we've all experienced moments when our inner critic threatens to overshadow our achievements.
Let’s talk about how to still that nagging voice of self-doubt:
- Reframe Your Self-Talk: You have thoughts all day long.? You don’t have to believe all of them. Next time you catch yourself thinking, "I don't deserve to be here," try reframing.? “I love where I am and I earned it. This simple shift can profoundly impact your confidence.
- Celebrate Your Unique Perspective: As a woman leading the way, your diverse experiences bring invaluable insights to the table. Your voice isn't just welcome—it's essential. Embrace the unique value you bring to every discussion - remember, someone may have said it first, but you’re saying it right now where it needs to be heard.
- Strike a Power Pose: Before your next big meeting or presentation, take a moment to stand in a "power pose." My favorite is the Wonder Woman - fists on your hips, chin up, shoulders down, feet shoulder width apart. Research shows that adopting an assertive posture for just two minutes can significantly boost your feelings of confidence and power.
- Create a 'Wins' Journal: Start documenting your daily successes, no matter how small. This is concrete evidence you can use to shore up your belief in yourself when you need it. Trust me, you’ll look back in a year and be shocked at how awesome you are!
- Embrace Vulnerability as Strength: Remember, showing vulnerability isn't a weakness—it's a sign of authentic leadership (no matter what the men in the room say!) Sharing your challenges can inspire your team and help them to thrive in a culture of openness and innovation.
These are just a few strategies I've found powerful in my own journey and in working with exceptional leaders like you. If you're curious to dive deeper into these concepts and more, I'll be exploring them further in my upcoming workshop, Confident.?

4 个月Yes, that inner critic is active right now - putting something new into the market is so interesting, males are ready to jump in , no questions asked, the women ask 101 questions and then say 'Oh, see how you go, maybe next time' - The win's journaling is a great way to keep focus, thanks Halle Eavelyn
