If we talk about the current times, the rising problems, and whatever is happening in the country, we will not be able to put it together because it has all gone out of control. One of the most unbearable problems that we as Pakistanis are facing these days is the internet breakdown, which too is happening every single day.?

If you think nobody is being affected by it you need to think again because the number is huge. According to a news agency the people around the country have lost $500 Million due to the internet breakdown happening every now and then. So let’s get to know about the other details of it.?

Internet breakdown brings an impact not on just one's personal life but overall that ends up influencing the economy the most. So how is the economy impacted is the first question that people tend to ask. Well, there is a lot that you need to know.?

Firstly, we all know this is a world filled with all things technology and so people also significantly earn from it. Most of the businesses have shifted their businesses to online so they need to have a good internet connection to make it work. If the internet keeps breaking down how would people manage to do business through it?

If we talk about the freelancer community, well, it is a sad state of affairs that people have lost their international work just because there was an internet shutdown for XYZ reasons. You cannot make it make sense why people working from home are being impacted by the people who have nothing else to do other than cutting the internet off here and there because of whatever reasons they think are legit or not.?

There is also a major chunk of influencers earning money through the internet and all this internet switch-off and switch-on has also impacted their businesses. We all know nothing is loading, and we have looked at the unnecessary roaming for hours.?

If we start with education, we know there are many online learning platforms for all types of students that we disrupted because, well, they could not connect to the internet. Why? Because the government decided they should not. We all know one of the major issues, the sudden rise of SMOG made things worse and there had to be a lock down. Through this lock down, people needed the internet to work, but was it there for them? No.

Besides that, we all know the current scenario of protests going on in the country, and even though the internet was not related to that, people thought that it was to silence their voices, so they could not put their point of view forward. Well, rightfully so because if they were not able to express their thoughts, they had to think about it this way. No matter the motto behind internet breakdown, everyone thought it was directed to them for all these reasons.?

Apart from the erosion of trust that happened in the people of Pakistan for their government, there was an immense backlash that they received internationally. They were concerned about how everybody was being treated in Pakistan as it was a clear violation of rights for everyone. This sure does not give a great image of this country and we should all condemn this as much as we can.?

With everything else, there have also been political impacts bringing in democratic unrest because well, people do not trust anybody anymore. Everybody has started to believe that the people in the government are against their own citizens, and it is absolutely okay for them to think like this. You have to understand the emotions of people because if you will not they will not show trust in you.?

If the people do not have any faith in the government, they will not come out with their support when they need it. Then the political leaders cannot fight asking people to vote for them because no one will. If you have to make a country democratic it is important that you listen to people and see what their needs and demands are.?

You will not be able to mitigate the problems until and unless you find what exactly is causing these things. We have to find the midways so everybody is on the same page. Not only that, but you will also have to let freedom of speech be a significant part so there is no need to shut the internet down.?

We all have to be on the same page because if we focus only on one part, democracy will continue to fail. For a better Pakistan, we need to build better strategies. These strategies will not only help us grow better as a nation but will bring new opportunities for everyone. So, it is a responsibility not just on the government’s shoulders but also on the citizens so we can progress together and so peace prevails in the country, in all shapes and forms.?
