Silence is RARELY golden!

Times like these are the perfect opportunity to build trust and demonstrate that you can do what you say you will do. It's no rocket science at all, in fact it's really simple. All you need to do is take the lead and make sure that you get in touch with your people. You need to show them, really demonstrate to them that you have their back and that you're there for them. ??
It is absolutely essential that you show up, and even if you don't necessarily have all the solutions or answers, you need to let people know that you're there and that they really can count on you. And in fact, it doesn't take much to do this, just some regular and consistent communication from you, in the most appropriate way depending on the individual, group or organisation. So have that conversation, ask them what their concerns are and most of importantly LISTEN.
Only by being there can you support them, only by finding out how they're doing can you help them and only by consistently doing this can you build trust and grow thier confidence in you. SHOW YOU CARE!??
Please don't let your people down, don't disappoint them - do make sure you're the one that is there when they need you.
?Remember silence is very rarely GOLDEN! ?
I actually have 2 real examples of 2 people very close to my business, people that I thought had my back, that I could trust and that would be there for me in times like these.
(They also cost me quite a lot of money each month for their services). Well, do you know what? Maybe they do have my back, but since the beginning of the COVID crisis, neither of them have been in touch directly with me, neither of them have picked up the phone to ask me how I'm doing and neither of them have offered to talk through any of the challenges that we are facing as a business.
It's so strange, I'm so surprised not to have heard from them. I have noticed their SILENCE and it has made me question the confidence I have in them and the service and value that I am getting and it's not a good feeling. I have lost my TRUST in them.
Don't let this happen to you and your people.
1) Get in touch
2) Ask them how it's going and LISTEN
3) Do what you say you are going to do, and not just sometimes, ALL the time.
4) Be transparent, honest & genuine.
and
5) Show you care.
What do you think? Have you been surprised by those close to you? Let me know your experiences and anything you've noticed.????
