What you look for, you never find; what you have, you never look for !
Happiness is one the most elusive subject of the 21st century and the 'Silence of Happiness' evasive in the noise of everything around us. The search for the Silence of Happiness is the secret of well-being for centuries by Zen monks, Buddhists, Shintos.
The secret is however a way of life, simply understood, seldom practiced.
- Don't Worry, rather Open Your Heart & Smile!
The best way to avoid anxiety is to go out and say hello to people. Saying "Hello" and "See you later" is a powerful way to inculcate mindfulness for things in the present and the people in the present. Worry often resides in the past or the future. Spending time together with people is one of the best ways to realize the present.
When you are taking care of something, like your garden, kitchen, home, worship place, etc., worry seldom touches you. Even if it does, it passes away shortly.
2. Habits sustain happiness!
Even before you find purpose in life, don't forget the purpose in every day. Everyday work cultivates purpose in every day. Working with your fingers, hands, feet, brain & heart gives everyday resilience to overcome life jolts.
If you Wake up early, pray, take care of your home, work with hands, meet people, celebrate, laugh, eat, breathe and sleep... life will remain the same for the longest time.
3. Good People Nurture you!
Talking each day with the people you love, is the secret to a happy long life. Getting together every day with family, friends, and neighbors helps you to stop & stay in the present, at the moment now. The secret to prolonged happiness is getting together with people, going from place to place, thereby shifting moments.
Being together brings you
stillness & peace!
4. Untie your Knots - Stop, Breathe & Be Aware!
We need to open two kinds of knots. The first of our notions & ideas, our concepts & knowledge; until which we are not free & we have no chance to touch the truth in life. The second knot is our afflictions and habits of suffering, such as fear, anger, discrimination, despair, arrogance. When you untie your knots, you stop your mind and transform them.
Being alive & aware in the present is key to happiness.
5. Live an Unhurried Life, go slow!
The secret to the 'Silence of Happiness' is to Slow Down, Relax, and not live a hurried life. Being busy is wonderful, doing many different things every day.
Always staying busy, but doing one thing at a time, without getting overwhelmed.
The key is to slow down, yet remain passionate!
6. Let go & Be Eternally Optimistic!
Finding your Purpose, something that would love to do and are great at it, and doing this makes you more resilient to let go. Letting go is critical to being present, moving forward, hoping for optimism every moment.
Every day I say to myself, "Today will be full of health & energy. Live it to the fullest". Laugh, Laughter is my key to long happiness, its peaceful.
- a happy centenerian.

3 å¹´Nice read Harsh. Happiness lies in opening up, equality, no rat race, the list is endless... But all of it against what we experienced and saw since child hood and till date where being one up is celebrated. Do you think Corporate life allows you to be happy?
