"THE SILENCE OF GOD"

"THE SILENCE OF GOD"

Have you ever found yourself in a position wondering where God is and why doesn't He make Himself known? If you do, don't feel bad, you are in good company!

?Though the Bible does not really record how Moses felt during the forty years he tended sheep, there surely must have been times that he wondered where God was. After all he had fled Egypt after killing an Egyptian officer and Pharaoh wanted to punish him. Moses, according to Stephen in Acts 7:25 thought the Israelites would understand that God was using him as their deliverer, however, they did not. For the next forty years Moses must have wondered why God changed His mind. Then Moses saw the burning bush!

?Isaiah said in Isaiah 64:7 that God has hidden His face from His people. The feeling of abandonment is heart-wrenching, especially when you feel that it is God that has abandoned you!

?Think about David for a moment. He was anointed the next king of Israel and then promptly went back to being a shepherd. David may not have felt abandoned by God, however, I can imagine he began to wonder when God was going to put him on the throne. We know that David trusted God without wavering, but that does not stop one form asking "When?"

?The silence of God is not bad. When God sets a plan in motion, it will be completed. We may wonder how and when, however, we need to be assured that God has all the details worked out and it will work according to His plan. Sometimes, maybe we need to be the ones to be silent and trust that God is in control!
