Signs of a Bad work environment

There is no ideal work place in the world we can find some good things as well as bad things all the time so we have to learn to live with such office environment but there are some work places which are so bad & unchangeable that if we will not change that Job those conditions not only affect professional career of individuals but also affect the overall personality of peoples, if someone will continue long time in such bad work environment it can ruins all his/her professional career so I would say “leave before it ruins you”. Some common fine points/signs which can be observed in a bad work place are mentioned below, and I hope these points can help you to identify a work place and decide for your future career.

1.     No coordination and reactionary behavior

In any bad work environment, system, office or team hardly you will find any good coordination and cooperation; in all types of jobs you need help from your team members, cross disciple segments and departments but in bad work environment you need to push everyone to get the small jobs done by all team members, most of the team members would not complete their task in stipulated time by themselves and when you purse for all jobs, if you will find no response or delay response from other team members then initially in this situation a good employee would be annoyed & will resist but when you will not get any good results then you would tends to be like them, and would behave in the same way as others in the reaction to their response; first a lazy behavior or delay tactics from a good & active employee would be only reaction but after spending few month in such environment it would be a habit and finally a good, dedicated, hardworking professional would be losing a work spirit. 


2.     You will lose your value

As a result of above mentioned reaction and over all culture of an organization when someone would not be completing his/her task in time due to this habit he/she will be lazy and will lose her/his value.

3.     You will be in stress, trouble and can’t accomplish your given tasks

In a bad work environment a good employee who wish to complete her/his task on time will always be in the state of stress, because he/she can’t get any good support from team members/management and always will be worried to complete his task, sometime need to do jobs of others, even above his capacity and below his level; all these factors combined would put him in a psychological stress ultimately he would be losing health and can’t deliver & sustain for the long time.

Some pressure is vital to complete the task in time and all team members must be assigned with certain deadline to complete a task and this type of pressure when there is close coordination between team members who are dedicated workers would not create a mental disturbance or Stress but due to bad work environment and team when it will be hard to accomplish task cause a Stress which will affect a good employee and he loose his mental health as well.

  

4.     You will be attacked by your boss instead of appreciation & will lose confidence.

In a bad work environment your boss will not behave like a team member or a leader, she/he would be only ordering and keep on attacking employees, Boss would not appreciated for your good works but keep on finding chance to insult subordinates, Such type of bosses believe when they will insult and keep on pushing the team members then everything would be fine, and all employees would be working hard due to his/her fear. In actual good employee can’t perform best in such type of situation, a good employee will lose work spirit, many things would be messed up but all the gaps & mistakes would be hidden from bosses who are thinking everything is going fine.

In a bad organization some good skills and abilities would become draw back in the personality of good employee, even some times when someone complete his task successfully but Bosses instead of appreciation would be insulting. Such type of behavior of Boss and environment would be effecting the overall performance of Good employees, confidence will be lost and good employee would be scared all the time even when that employee quits the job then also it takes time to regain the confidence which was present in that one so the best option for good worker is once he/she realize that they are in a very bad work environment,  they must leave that organization as soon as possible otherwise a confidence which is lost will be very difficult to regain again.

5.     Your colleagues would be playing politics to secure their jobs

In a Bad organizations, your skills, abilities and talented would not be considered as factors for continuity of your Job and career growth but your relationship with Bosses and how happy you can keep them so everyone would be feeling insecure in that work environment as a result of this fear of insecurity your colleagues would be playing politics to save and secure their Job.

Employees would never express their feeling and thinking before one another, most of employees would not be working hard, improve skills and prove themselves to be recognized but would be playing dirty games and politics to gain the favor from management, such type of your colleagues would be showing self-created issues to management and would solve very quickly those issues to present their values which a good employee would never think about, ultimately bad bosses would be considering to such commander Mario the good employees and the real Heroes of an organizations would go in the back ground and can be fired due to dirty politics of company so before you get trapped in such politics leave that company.


6.     Your boss & colleagues would be scared of you.

If you are good, talented employee in a Bad organization and environment your Boss and colleagues who are incompetent would be scared of you. Even your are good with them you do not want to hurt anyone but they all would be planning to get you out of business, they all would be trying to keep you down, finding chance to prove you incompetent even some times they would act in a way and prove that you are wrong even though you are right, then you yourself would be reviewing your personality either I am wrong or what? This would be very bad psychological condition when a good employee start to think about himself/herself and his/her good jobs/work either is it good, bad or what? This is stage where a good employee start to lose confidence and once a good, competent and hardworking employee would lose confidence his/her career would be ruined.


7.     Your boss will put you down & you will be ignored

In any bad work environment your boss ignores you, you will not be engaged in a team work where he/she may be thinking that you would appreciated and your professional career can growth, however you would assigned difficult tasks which other can’t do or does not want to do, even your boss will assign you very low profile work  so that you can feel bad psychologically and leave the organization.


8.     You will not get credit of your good work

In any bad work environment always your boss will send you separate and private emails to do his/her work, no one will appreciate your good work instead of rewards and appreciation your boss will always take all credit of your good work and at the time of appraisal you will not get the ranking as per your performance.


9.     Overall performance of team decreases and all team would always be in trouble.

In a bad work environment no one is happy, all employees would be complaining one or other way. As a result of all above factors overall performance of a team or organization would be decreasing which will result in closing of certain business and sometimes massive lay off can be observed, once you will be fired or laid off…..Then a good employee can understand & guess how it can affect them Psychologically and professionally. So leave….Leave a bad system before it ruins you as soon as possible before something bad happens to you.
