The Indian Army prepared a plan for an aggressive assault against the Pakistani invaders on Tiger Hill on July 3, 1999. The procedure took 36 hours to complete.

On July 3, 1999, the Indian Army launched its final assault at the summit of Tiger Hill, during which 10 Pakistani soldiers were killed and two managed to flee. However, the Indian Army was able to retake Tiger Hill despite losing five Indian soldiers in the attack.
