Signed..."a REAL ARCHITECT"
Pet PEEVE of the day: IT people calling themselves "Architects"
{Advance apologies to my IT friends out there}
Pick up your iphone, ipad, i-whatever... and ask Siri "What is an architect?". Even she knows the definition, and she was crafted by an IT wizard!
The fact that you "build" or "craft" something, or perhaps view the science of physical architecture relative to the science of technological architecture {in my opinion} doesn't give you the right to label yourself as an "Architect". Architect is a hard earned title; as is IT Engineer, but they are apples and oranges folks.
A real quoted comment I recently stumbled across on a blog about this very topic, by "REAL ARCHITECT":
real ARCHITECT 6:39 PM
In searching for jobs in Architecture the System IT jobs come up, you need to redefine Architect and Architecture as an ART or in the Construction Field and move all the IT jobs out of "Architect" Key words. I went through a long exhaustive effort to earn the title ARCHITECT and unfortunately all the IT computer postings are using the term liberally. I am licensed ARCHITECT. I have earned the right to practice my profession and I hope you organization will acknowledge, as my colleges and society does, that my knowledge was acquired though rigorous education, training, internships, tested in comprehensive exams and certified by licensure. Thank you for your consideration in this matter. -a REAL ARCHITECT"

What are your thoughts on the controversy over this?
As an Executive search consultant to the Design/Build industries, I truly understand the passion {sweat, blood, tears} that back the titles Architects carry around. It means something great and shouldn't be plagiarized.
