Signal quality performance by PCB materials
PCB materials by a number of important material parameters are related to the performance of high-speed signal quality, such as dielectric constant (Dk) and dissipation factor (Df).
Lower dielectric constant(Dk) allows rapid signal propagation. Dielectric constant(Dk) of a material is important for signal integrity and impedance considerations.
Lower Df of materials has a direct impact on signal transmission loss.
Dedicated high-speed laminates(like Rogers RO4350) have better properties at higher frequencies than FR4 does.
