In the choppy waters that we often find ourselves in today, it’s easy to get sucked into the details and caught up in the onslaught of things coming your way. Jumping into the weeds is a seductive mistress. You roll up your sleeves, you feel your adrenaline pumping, your reflexes perk up, your focus sharpens, and you lock in to your superpowers. All of a sudden you’re winning. You’re getting shit done. In a world that’s beating down on you, it feels great!?
But it’s not your job. Your job is to provide perspective and clarity. And to provide clarity, you first need clarity. You need to make the time to step back, see the bigger picture, and know where to reorient.?
Bill Gates talked about an annual “Think Week” and Sahil Bloom talks about a monthly “Think Day”. I personally save my Friday afternoons to step away and reflect. What method do you use to carve out reflection space??
