Sigma Technology collaborates with Re:Play to digitize a platform promoting sustainable learning and reuse in preschools

Re:Play, established in 2022, is dedicated to building a more sustainable future by focusing on the very foundation of tomorrow—Swedish preschools, supporting both children and educators. The company provides repurposed and surplus materials for preschool activities and produces play and learning toys made from recycled materials, all aligned with the national curriculum. The materials used to create these educational tools come from industrial surplus and waste, which would otherwise have been discarded or incinerated.?

From the very start, Re:Play turned to Sigma Technology for support in creating an innovative IT platform.?

"The software is already being used by Re:Play’s customers, including preschools across Kronoberg County. Beyond the IT platform, Sigma Technology is also working on developing a user-friendly sales portal, a flexible rental system, and an engaging knowledge-sharing module to further enhance the experience, "?says Philip Forsmark, Software developer at Sigma Technology Informatics Solutions.

"Together with municipalities and companies in Kronoberg County, we have identified a unique opportunity to create new value chains by reusing industrial surplus materials as educational resources for preschools. By developing a digital sharing platform, we make these materials easily accessible to preschools, regardless of location, and enable increased use of sustainable resources," said Pontus Albinzon, founder of Re:Play. He added:? "The collaboration with Sigma and their development team has been invaluable for us as a startup. Their flexibility, responsiveness, and innovative working methods have been like an extension of our team—almost like the employees we don't yet have in our own organization. With Philip as our contact, an experienced and resourceful problem solver, we’ve felt incredibly secure in driving the project forward, even during times when we had to focus on other tasks that naturally arise in a startup."

"It has been a rewarding and inspiring collaboration with Re:Play. Their vision of contributing to sustainable learning aligns with our goal of creating a better tomorrow. We are also proud to have completed this project with our development team and by involving students from Linnaeus University. It’s important to us to show future system developers how technology can contribute to a sustainable society and inspire careers in tech," said Johan Ericsson, Department Manager at Sigma Technology Informatics Solutions.

The partnership between Re:Play and Sigma Technology continues, with a new project planned for 2025. This initiative will focus on further digitalization and sustainable development in preschool environments, in collaboration with students from Linnaeus University.

A true example of a better tomorrow and great synergy between startup mindset, circularity, and digitalization. Great work Pontus Albinzon Stefanos Papamichailidis Johan Ericsson Philip Forsmark ?
