Having spent 11 years in The Gambia, I can confidently say that my experience in Sierra Leone has been nothing short of transformative. The youth here are incredibly disciplined, enthusiastic, and eager to learn. It's a far cry from the complexities and challenges I faced in my previous location.
One of the most striking differences I've observed is the level of jealousy and hypocrisy that permeates the youth scene in The Gambia. These negative attitudes often hinder progress and create a toxic environment. In contrast, the youth in Sierra Leone are supportive, cooperative, and focused on achieving their goals.
My organization, the Leonian Connection Group, has found a fertile ground for growth in Sierra Leone. Our focus on sports has resonated with the young people here, who are passionate athletes and eager to develop their skills. The supportive atmosphere and the government's commitment to youth development have made it possible for us to achieve significant milestones in a relatively short period.
In The Gambia, it took me years to build the kind of relationships and trust that I have established in Sierra Leone in just a few months. This is a testament to the positive and collaborative spirit of the youth here.
The Future is Bright
As I look ahead, I am filled with optimism about the future of Sierra Leone and the potential of its youth. With the right support and opportunities, these young people can achieve great things. I am proud to be part of the Leonian Connection Group and to contribute to the development of this vibrant nation.
