Siemens Financial Services names new Head of Equity for Asia Australia

Siemens Financial Services has been an active investor in the Asia Australia (AA) region since years, with investments ranging from energy, transportation infrastructure to healthcare. We recently named Mark Ee as new Head of Equity for the region, located in Singapore.

I spoke with Mark about his new role and the opportunities for SFS in the region.?

Steffen Grosse:?What are you most looking forward to in your new role?

Mark Ee: It is always exciting to have the opportunity to drive a growth story and here I am looking forward to doing so with the equity portfolio in Asia/Australia for SFS, together with a strong team within the organization, across various disciplines. I see this role as being the latest guardian of how the team will look in the future and I embrace the chance to develop not just the portfolio, but to do so with a multiplicative effect on the team, building a pipeline of future leaders in our organization, who will take the business to new heights, long after my time in this role.

Steffen Grosse:?What opportunities are there from an investment perspective in the AA region?

Mark Ee: The Asia Australia region is in many ways the bedrock of industry in the world, with a very diverse set of countries at varying levels of development. With this comes the huge potential of economic reward as the various industries look to new business models, modernize and digitalize, or transforming their businesses through a sustainability journey. This creates many opportunities where the equity business in the AA region can add value through our investment, alongside technology from various Siemens businesses.

Steffen Grosse:?How can SFS support Siemens in the region?

Mark Ee: Siemens is evolving, just as SFS is, as part of the transformation of the global economy. SFS can support Siemens through investment in new business models or newer technologies, facilitating the adoption of Siemens technology through such investment, allowing us to demonstrate the value-add proposition of such technology to the world.

There is also a significant urgency in meeting sustainability goals globally. By focusing our investments on sustainable sectors, technologies and companies, SFS can also support Siemens in achieving our group sustainability objectives, both directly and indirectly.
