Side Effects

Former fitpro for over 23 years, and business owner for over 18 years. Now ready for the next chapter
There was an interesting side effect from my ‘Just Fired’ email last week.
And once again I take a good lesson out of that.
If you missed that email, you can catch up?here.
So what happened?
A couple of people unsubscribed.
Now, some might think that’s a bad thing cause I’ve obviously hit a nerve with those people.
To me that’s the perfect outcome.
They were never going to be a good fit with DPM anyways.
I don’t think I stepped out of line or bagged anyone.
All I did was say what I wasn’t going to be prepared to cop – and that’s constantly being stood up without notice.
Not too much to ask.
If that is? Well I can tell who’d be hard to work with.
And for me if that prompted someone who would’ve likely done that should we have ever worked together, then I think of that message as serving it’s purpose.
One, telling a story, and two, repelling someone where we wouldn’t have been a great fit for each other.
The one thing i’d like to think I have is a bit of self awareness and realise that it’s okay if I’m not a good fit for everyone.?
And them for me.
They might be great people, and like I said with the case last week, it was probably cause of other stuff going on in his life.
So I don’t take it personal.
I just know that when I work with someone I want them to have the same amount of buy in to their journey that I have to their success.
Have a good weekend and Happy Mothers Day to any mum reading.
Cheers,
Daniel
