Si Netherlands Hub: Reflecting and looking ahead

At lot has happened in 2024 for the Si Netherlands Hub and we are looking forward to the new year to continue to grow new and strengthen existing connections for a flourishing systems thinking network in the Netherlands.

Throughout the past year, we have in total organised 12 events:

Next to hosting our own events, we have been invited to facilitate workshops for others, for example at the User Experience Design conference in Lisbon, a symposium on "Systems approaches in a just energy transition for equitable access" in Colombia, the Systems Innovation Conference in London and ImpactFest in The Hague.

After attending the Si Conference in London and welcoming Teun Sluijs as our new core team member, we made two decisions together: We changed our name from Si Amsterdam to Si Netherlands Hub and decided to focus on in person events that will take place throughout the Netherlands.

We celebrated the start of this new phase with an in person event in The Hague: The Si Netherlands Hub Kickoff Celebration.

During this event, we explored together what is needed to grow a strong network of systems thinking in the Netherlands. Based on the insights and wishes from the participants, we are working on developing a couple of repeating event formats that match the different needs and ensure continuity. One of these formats has already been proven very successful: The systems thinking dinner.

Next year we will organise the systems thinking dinner roughly every 6 weeks in different cities throughout the Netherlands. The next one will take place in Utrecht in the fourth week of January. We are finalising the details with the restaurant, the sign up link will be available on our the Netherlands Hub page soon.

To continue with this and develop the new formats, we need your ideas and support. Our very first event in the new year will be a Campfire Conversation on 14. January. We will use this opportunity to go through the Miro board together and make plans for the new year.
