Since 1999, The Krewe of Barkus and Meoux has been sponsored in the Ark-La-Tex because of their passion for animals. Their mission is to develop, foster, and promote programs to benefit abused, neglected, and homeless animals.

Krewe of Centaur Parade & Red River Mardi Gras Bash

The Krewe of Centaur is one of the largest parading krewes in Louisiana, and their giant, colorful parade is a must-see! The parade will begin, rain or shine on Clyde Fant Parkway in downtown Shreveport.?What better way to gear up for two of the largest Mardi Gras parades in town than to come down to the Red River District, listen to music, eat some King Cake, have a drink and fill up your bags with some Mardi Gras and Louisiana products?

Krewe of Gemini Parade

The Krewe of Gemini is one of northwest Louisiana’s largest Mardi Gras krewes and it biggest parade starts in downtown Shreveport at Clyde Fant Parkway at Lake Street. The parade will roll down Clyde Fant Parkway onto Shreveport-Barksdale Highway and finish up in the Broadmoor neighborhood. This year’s theme is?"Vacation"?with floats ranging from golfing, scuba diving, and surfing.

Krewe of Highland Parade

One of Shreveport-Bossier's most unique Carnival season events, the Krewe of Highland Mardi Gras Parade, will celebrate 25 years this Mardi Gras season. The parade is known for its wonderful "throws" - including Moon Pies, Ramen Noodles, and hot dogs, as well as marching bands, and do-it-yourself floats. The parade begins at the intersection of Gregg Avenue and Gilbert Drive and follows a circular route through the historic Highland neighborhood.

Since 1984, the Krewe of Janus?parade has grown to include over 100 units & an estimated crowd of 80,000 people During our parade in 2013, the crowd numbered in excess of 175,000 people. In 2015 the parade route changed and the crowds grew even more.?
