August Highlights?
SHRDC was shortlisted to be among the 30 finalists for the 2024 JCIM Sustainable Development Award (JCIM SDA) allowed us to reflect on our continuous dedication to advocating for sustenance and innovation in industrialization—we figured that our efforts seeped through, reflected in the shortlisted lists, and we are truly honored. Graced with even greater honor and recognition, we were awarded as the recipient of United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 9, reflecting our commitment to building resilient infrastructure, promoting inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and fostering innovation.?
?At the recent “Bridging the Gap: Embracing Digital Natives in the Workplace” event, hosted by Talent Houz in collaboration with Selangor Human Resource Development Centre (SHRDC), industry leaders shared valuable insights on attracting and retaining this dynamic generation. The discussions emphasized creating a positive company culture, prioritizing work-life balance, and offering meaningful career progression opportunities to attract the next generation of talent!??

SDG SUMMIT EVENT?
The Malaysia SDG Summit 2024 is scheduled for 17-18 September 2024 at the KL Convention Centre (KLCC). This event will serve as a key platform for stakeholders across various sectors to gather, exchange insights, and take crucial actions toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In addition to the summit, there will be conventions, exhibitions, and side activities to enhance collaboration and enrich the overall experience.?
The theme for this year’s summit is "Localizing SDG Implementation for an Inclusive, Sustainable, and Resilient Malaysia," highlighting the importance of local and inclusive actions in advancing sustainable development. SHRDC will also be hosting an SDG session on 17 September. For more information, please contact us.?
The summit will cover all 17 SDGs and bring together government agencies, private sector leaders, NGOs, and community organisations to foster meaningful collaboration. The primary goal is to strengthen collective efforts, facilitate effective partnerships, and ensure the successful implementation of SDGs toward 2030.?
The event will focus on the five dimensions of the SDGs—people, Planet, Prosperity, Peace, and Partnership. Experts from various sectors will share their perspectives in forums and plenary sessions to drive collaboration, celebrate diversity, and support meaningful change towards a more inclusive future. Around 5,000 participants are expected to raise awareness and understanding of SDG implementation and achievements in Malaysia.?
