During the Ashtami-Navami, the day when Kanya Puja is performed, invite and honor nine girls aged 2 to 10 along with one boy. When the girls arrive, wash their feet, seat them in the appropriate place, apply akshat and kumkum on their foreheads, and drape them with a chunri.
Serve them a meal. After the meal, give them dakshina or gifts according to your ability, touch their feet, receive their blessings, and bid them farewell. Only after this, partake in the prasad.
