#ShowUsYourLeave at dentsu Media
The lines between work life and home life have become blurred, replacing traditional schedules with the need for flexibility. The #ShowUsYourLeave?campaign highlights how companies are supporting their employees in this new hybrid lifestyle, whether it be at home, in the office, or as parents and family members.???
We asked our people to join in on the #ShowUsYourLeave?conversation and share their experiences at dentsu Media around our wellness offerings, flexible leave policies, parental support, and community outreach.?
“Our FlexTime gives me the space to manage my physical and mental health better than I’ve ever been able to before. I can make sure I move every day and, when needed, take the time to check-in with myself which makes me better at work.”?
“Dentsu’s Paid Military Leave Policy ensures that all members of the military are supported at home and when called into service. As a former servicemember, I am proud to work for a company that offers members of the military and their families support through paid leave, mental health resources, and a patriotic company culture during a time of need.”?·?????????
“Dentsu’s maternity leave gave me 16 weeks filled with wild and crazy moments, anxiety (keeping it real), belly laughs and smiles, and memories to last a lifetime – not once, but twice???. I’ve loved every bonding moment with both my boys and my husband, and I’m extremely grateful to have had the support of my company, my leadership, my team, and my clients to reinforce the importance behind taking this time to be with my family.”?
“Dentsu’s benefits help to balance the sometimes hectic NYC life. Remote work, flexible vacation, and the Friday “me time” provide opportunities to visit friends and family, step away from my computer and decompress – even if it is as simple as taking a walk around the neighborhood when needed. I also tap into dentsu’s volunteer hours by mentoring young adults with The Boyd Initiative, a non-profit that increases diversity in the Media industry by connecting young Black professionals with career opportunities. I love being able to focus time beyond my day-to-day responsibilities to make positive change where I can.”?

“My wife and I recently were pregnant with our third child and having the 16-week paid family leave to rely on was a huge burden lifted off our shoulders. Knowing that we would not have to worry about childcare for the first four months of birth meant the world to us. I could not imagine working for another company that did not have such a thoughtful policy that allowed us time to bond with our newborn.”??
“There are a lot of companies that boast about long parental leave programs, flexible schedules, work-from-home abilities, and unlimited time off, but writing those policies in a company handbook and supporting/encouraging the use of them in everyday employee culture are two very different things. I’m so thankful that dentsu does the latter and fundamentally believes that I am a better employee, leader, and mother when I take advantage of those programs. I’m looking forward to being able to spend the next 16 weeks enjoying my newborn – we’re ready to welcome them any day now!”?
“I had been at my role as the HR Lead for Carat for a little over two weeks when my sister went through a double mastectomy to survive her breast cancer. Being a new employee, I wanted to get up to speed as soon as possible and I felt very uncomfortable about requesting time off so soon after starting. The stress, anxiety, and uncertainty in the days following my sister’s surgery were some of the worst I’ve experienced. I needed to be there for her and I did not know how much time I would need; so instead of asking for time off, I decided to resign from my role and focus on my sister’s health. When I told my amazing manager about my situation, she graciously listened and offered me two weeks of paid time off instead of a resignation. I was empowered to use the benefits dentsu offers when I needed them the most. I am forever grateful for the option to be there for my sister and to support her through some of the most challenging times, while also keeping my job.”?
“I want to thank dentsu for their paternity/maternity policy. Having 16 weeks of paid leave allowed me to be there for my child’s firsts; first roll-over, first laugh, first babble, etc..?All of these were life-changing moments that I was able to experience because of the flexibility that was offered to me in the workplace. Being there to support my family and share in the early moments of having a child rejuvenated and gave me energy, as well as a new perspective on what kinds of benefits I needed from my employer. I am very thankful for my team’s ability to fill in without complaint or concern while I was out, and the support from dentsu leadership to take the full time available.”?
