Showing Up, On Purpose

Showing Up, On Purpose

Ever feel like you’re just … drifting??Going through the motions, a leaf on the wind? We all have those moments. But what if I told you there’s a way to anchor yourself, to find your direction, even amid the chaos?

Chances are you’ve forgotten about your 2-word purpose or, for whatever reason, putting your purpose to work in your life has eluded you. Perhaps your 2-word purpose just isn’t ringing true within your spirit? If this is you, be sure to join me at a?Refine Your Purpose?live coaching event that happens each month.

Being on-purpose isn’t about having all the answers or a meticulously planned five-year strategy (though those can be helpful!). It’s about a deep and profound respect for who you are. When you fail to respect yourself, you derail your on-purpose possibilities at great peril.

Respecting yourself is a choice, period.?It’s about showing up, fully present, in each moment, asking yourself, “Does this decision and action reflect who I want to be?”

Think about it. When you’re genuinely on-purpose, even mundane tasks are infused with meaning. Picking up your kids from school becomes an act of love and is relationship building, not a parental chore. That project deadline, instead of a source of stress, transforms into an opportunity to showcase your skills and talents in a way that makes the world a better place.

But here’s the catch: being on-purpose requires respect. Respect for yourself, for others, and for the world around you. Respect for yourself means recognizing your worth, setting boundaries, and not being easily offended. It’s about listening to your inner voice, honoring its wisdom, and doing what is the most respectful thing you can do in the moment. This “respect approach” hardens your resilience, tests your patience, and develops meekness.

Respect for others is crucial. Think of the Golden Rule. It means treating everyone with dignity, empathy, and understanding, regardless of their background, beliefs, or idols. It’s about actively listening, seeking to understand their perspective, and valuing their contribution even when you disagree. And respect for the world? That’s about recognizing our interconnectedness on “Spaceship Earth.” It’s about making conscious choices to be a steward of the planet and people because every one of us is an imperfect being who is an on-purpose person in creation.

So how do you start living on-purpose? Start small. Identify one area of your life where you feel misaligned. Maybe it’s your career, your relationships, or your health. Then, ask yourself, “What small step can I take today to move closer to meaningfully expressing my purpose?”Maybe it’s having an honest conversation, setting a boundary, or simply taking five minutes to appreciate the beauty around you. It doesn’t have to be grand. It just has to be intentional.

Because when you live on purpose, with respect as your guide, you don’t just drift.?You soar. You become the architect of your own life, creating a ripple effect of positive growth in the world. And in return you will earn the respect of others.

Be On-Purpose!
