Showing Up
On May 22, 2021, I completed my first 50-mile Zoo de Mac bike ride alongside my dad. I am not an avid cycler, but I am willing to push my limits if it helps someone achieve their goals. For the longest time, my dad had the Zoo de Mac on his bucket list - if you know my dad, he is full of adventure. From riding a motorcycle, to camping for weeks at a time, he is up to explore just about anything. Over the weekend, we completed our 4th Zoo de Mac bike ride. The best part is that my dad convinced my sister and a longtime friend to join the fun this year.
As I reflect back on each year, it is very interesting to see how each one was challenging in a different way.
Each year, I find myself signing up to ride again. Why? Because there is something so beautiful about the feeling of success when crossing the finish line. I feel so much gratitude to know that I am physically capable and so is my dad. Riding with 3 others made this year extra special. Most importantly, I showed up for my dad to continue his Zoo de Mac tradition.
When was the last time you put yourself out there to help someone else achieve a goal? What are you willing to do to show up for someone else? I would love to hear if you have ever done the Zoo de Mac and if I will see anyone in 2025. Have a great week!
