Showing How Small Steps Can Equal Big Results - Mantra #4

Thier Mantra: "I am someone who finds fulfillment in helping people see new and alternative solutions through creative thinking IN THAT I love how just a little extra work, not always an extra mile, can be the difference for others, myself, and the company."

When you can present yourself to others, your managers, and potential investors as someone who sees "forest from the trees," you are presenting them with a person who can play both the long and short game.

When I asked this person about what drained them they said "Those who only take and are not teachable." PREACH. But for real, how many teams have been tainted by a person with this toxicity? There is an old saying that "a little leaven leavens the whole loaf." Meaning, that it only takes a little bit of toxicity to spoil a culture. Like a bad apple sitting at the bottom of a bunch, slowly spreading the rot to the top, a person who only takes will do the same.

But how do you fight against this? Obviously, gossip only feeds into the toxicity. Full on confrontation may not be the best tactic. So how? It's about the long game. Asking humble, honest questions to these people can go a long way. Asking someone like this "what drains you?" or "what makes you feel excited?"

These little gestures may be the creative solution to a seemingly impossible situation. But if you only saw the tree, the one bad apple in the bunch, you may feel stuck. More often than not, people feel stuck not because there are no options available, but rather because their scope of view is far too narrow. Only once they zoom out will they be able to see the path forward that was readily available.
