Showcase Your Work

Showcase Your Work

Chances are dozens if not hundreds of others are applying for the same job you’re applying for. Outside of a stellar resume, how can you stand apart from the crowd?

One key way is by completing your LinkedIn profile. We’ve already published many resources on how to highlight your worth to potential employers using LinkedIn, check out our blog for more details on this essential first step.

Beyond LinkedIn, there are more ways to help you stand out. You need to have somewhere accessible where you can instantly showcase your work. This should be a place employers can go and see what you’re working on and what you’re capable of.

The format of how you showcase your work should be appropriate to what you do. If you do writing, coaching, or things that involve lots of ideas, consider starting a blog. If you’re a photographer, create an Instagram highlighting your best work.

Another great tip is to get the domain for your name. Then you’ll have a website “yourname.com” where you can have brief information about your story, professional photos of you, and whatever you’re working on - whether that’s video editing, coding, or something completely different.

This will give you an easy-to-find space that you can continually update with your latest work. When employers search your name your website, along with your LinkedIn, will be one of the first things to appear.

What better way of showcasing your talents to the hiring world?
