Show love to creating LinkedIn articles… Here’s why!

A week ago, I asked people if they think they receive less views for their LinkedIn articles than posts. Well, over 90% said: “Yes, articles get less views.â€
And honestly, I’m not surprised with the poll result. Even I felt the same earlier.
But here’s a revelation.
“LinkedIn articles get the same reach (views) as normal LinkedIn posts.â€
Nopes, am not drunk.
OK, most of my LinkedIn posts have average views of around 2000-3000 (in 24 hours or so). And the numbers have been consistent over the years. Just an observation. I have run no analytics.
Now, recently, I published (not shared) an article on LinkedIn. After 12 hours, I saw the article has been read by 23 people. Yeah, only 23. ONLY 23! SHOCKING!!!
But then, something else caught my eye.
In my profile, LinkedIn showed that the post got 1518 views. Yep, the post created, when I published the article, reached 1518 people in a little over 12 hours (almost the same as my normal posts).
So, the article did reach 1500+ people, but only 23 chose to open it and read.
And the same goes with LinkedIn posts. Even if you receive 10,000 views or 1,00,000 views (yeah, viral) on a post, it doesn’t mean 10,000 (or 1,00,000) people read it.
So now, go and show some love to creating LinkedIn articles too. It has the same reach as your posts. Also, the articles will help you know how many people cared to read what you wrote.

4 å¹´I still feel that Li post are read more by people rather than Li articles. People are more comfortable and I guess if we want to sell, we need to provide comfort.

4 å¹´yes they do :)
Master of none; adequately functional at a few
4 å¹´Minor flaw with this reasoning, I think. The articles themselves get fewer views despite the reach of the post. And this won't change with users showing love to creating long form content on LinkedIn. It was huge on LinkedIn a few years ago, but then kinda faded away. This state of things will only change when 1. Users show more love to reading long form content. 2. The LinkedIn algorithm itself pushes articles to the feed rather than just the posts related to the articles. ??
