The Show That Has Actually Survived

The Show That Has Actually Survived

Survivor in my opinion is one of the most iconic shows. The show aired in 2000 and now has a whopping 40 seasons and still remains a favorite for many fans around the world. Jeff Probst has been the notorious host since the beginning of the show and continues to be. The show has had a range of different themes and twists to keep the show relevant; for example, battle between the generations and winners at war where winners from different seasons came back to battle it out.

This was one of my favorite TV shows when I was younger. My siblings and I would create our own Survivor challenges, one time we did a blindfolded taste test and our mom was the judge. However, now that the seasons are streamed on Hulu I’ve picked the show back up and I’m not upset about it. Although, it is a lot more dangerous now that I can watch multiple episodes in one sitting and not have to wait a week for the next episode to premiere.

In my opinion I think the show is so entrapping from the immunity and award challenges, hidden immunity idols, strategic playing, alliances, tribal council and so much more. The show is like a mix between reality TV and sports. You always end up picking a favorite tribe or a favorite player that you cheer on until the end and there is a little drama throughout the way.

It’s funny in a way that Survivor has actually survived the test in the TV show industry. Many TV shows come and go, but Survivor has remained a fan favorite, it’s like nothing else! Probst only planned to host the show for a few years as that is how long he thought the show would last. Twenty years later Probst is still the host and Survivor is now the longest running reality show on TV. It is crazy to think that when I was younger it would have been a dream for me to be on the show and now I am old enough to go on the show and it’s still filming. Maybe I’ll be on the next Survivor season?
