Should You Vote Straight Across Party Lines - Not if You Want a New DA
Please consider making a donation to the campaign at https://www.electdifalco.com/contribute. Help us help Theresa and in turn, help all of Rockland County.
On the eve of early voting, our County Executive sent out a mass phone message encouraging people to vote straight across Row B, which is the Republican line. As the face of the Republican Party in Rockland I can understand Day's intention by asking people to support the Republican slate.
However, by encouraging people to blindly vote across the row, as some others on social media have done, the end result is candidates like write-in candidate for District Attorney Theresa DiFalco will be overlooked because she is not on Row B.
If people follow Day's advice, then they will be voting for Democrat Tom Walsh rather than DiFalco. That can't possibly be what Day is trying to tell people, can it?
It is bad enough that the Republican and Conservative leadership gave their lines to Walsh. We know from several sources that those same leaders are working hard to suppress any of the elected officials or candidates from publicly supporting Theresa DiFalco lest they face the wrath of those powerful political leaders. But to widely broadcast a message that tacitly supports Walsh at this time is not a smart move.
It was just about 2 weeks ago that both George Hoehmann and Day spoke at another press conference and once again invoked the name of Jared Lloyd as they again said they are working hard so we never have another tragedy like the Evergreen Court fire.
At that time I called for both of them to publicly support DiFalco since anyone who keeps throwing out Jared’s name couldn’t possibly be supportive of Walsh and his history of failed prosecutions. Yet these “leaders” refuse to take a stand and show the public that they truly honor the legacy of Jared Lloyd by supporting the only candidate who hasn’t already let all who mourn Jared’s loss down by a series of failed prosecutions.
I can tell you the Ed Day I worked with in NYPD and the Ed Day I worked so closely with in 2017 is not the same as the Ed Day that we see today. The Ed Day I knew would be screaming loud and clear rallying support for Theresa DiFalco and not sending out robocalls that tacitly endorse Walsh.
I shared the following on Ed’s Facebook page this morning after others asked him who he supported for DA to which he gave a non-responsive reply saying as a former first responder the rest of the first responders know how he will vote.

Ed Day They all know how you are going to vote? No, they all don’t know. I consider myself part of they and I have no clue how you are going to vote. More importantly, as the face of the Republican Party, you owe it to the residents you so proudly represent and serve to let them know who you want as your District Attorney to fight the fight you so often tell the public you are engaged in as a former first responder.
The Ed Day I worked with in the NYPD and who I worked with helping to get you re-elected in 2017 is not the same Ed Day I see today. The Ed Day of yesteryear would be up front and center loudly supporting Theresa DiFalco as the write-in candidate for DA.
Just 10 days ago you and George Hoehmann held yet another press conference about dangerously overcrowded flop houses and once again you both invoked the name of Jared Lloyd and again promised you would do all you could to stop another tragedy where a first responder would potentially lose their life.
Yet you are not doing all you can. You have been asked to take a stand and support DiFalco and rather than be the hard-charging Ed I once knew you simply say the rest of the first responders know how you will vote?
To make matters worse Friday night you put out a robocall urging residents to “Vote Republican, Row B, to elect common sense leaders who will keep Rockland from turning into NYC.”
As you are the face of the Republican Party I completely understand your supporting your fellow Republicans and urging voters to do the same. But in this plea you tacitly encourage voters to also vote for Tom Walsh, since the party has graciously bestowed the Republican line upon him and those that vote straight across Row B will be voting for Democrat Tom Walsh many not realizing they will be voting for the very man Jared Lloyd’s sacrifice meant so little to.
Take a stand, Ed. If you don’t take a stand you don’t stand for anything.
