Should You Tip On Pick-Up Orders?
- With so many places offering pick-up service for food, should you tip when you made most of the effort to get your order?
- Food And Wine asked that question to the etiquette experts at the Emily Post Institute.
- They say there is "no obligation" to tip for take out.
- The institute does suggest you tip 10 percent for service above and beyond handing you the bag. Those examples include curbside pick-up when you don't have to leave your car and "large, complicated orders."
- Do you tip at take out? How much?

5 年I will, not as much as a sit down dine in experience, but someone still had to take the order, package the items, provide counter service for the pickup, etc. Lots of places pool tips as well for the entire shift to benefit from since tipping habits change from customer to customer.?

5 年I don’t feel it necessary to tip but if the service is great why not give them a tip they work just as hard as we do!
