Should you run a Black Friday deal?

The question on everyone's lips at the moment is...?"Should I run a Black Friday offer?".?

So, I thought I'd share my take on it and let you know my plan - in case it's helpful.

First up - there are no 'should's in business.?

Or life, for that matter.

'Should' implies that there's a right answer - it's a way of looking for external validation rather than trusting yourself to make a decision and go for it.?And that never ends well!?

The only thing you 'should' do is what's?right for you.

How do you know what's right for you??

By asking, "Do I WANT to do this"?

But I know, even so, it can be hard to trust your own judgement - especially when 'everyone else' is doing something and FOMO strikes.

So let me give you some food for thought.

Will I be doing Black Friday?

Yes!?

I'll be jumping on the commercial bandwagon, the great marketing extravaganza that it is for this reason:

To buy stuff I would have bought ANYWAY at full price.??

Because... who wouldn't?

I've already snaffled a rather nifty spanking new vacuum cleaner I wanted at half the price -?and I'm soooo pleased with it!?

It's got all the bells and whistles I wanted and then some.

(This is how you know you're settling into middle-aged parent-dom, by the way - finding domestic appliances thrilling and grinning like a Cheshire Cat as you clean the house with the new-found?vigour of a squirrel on Speed.?It's the little things!).

Would I have bought it anyway??

Errr... yes!?Because I wanted a new vacuum that performed the EXACT specific functions this one does.?I didn't want an inferior model, I wanted the GOOD one.

Am I pleased I've saved myself some money??You bet!?

Did the sale?influence my purchasing decision??Not really!?

I just happened to want a new vacuum at this particular time and went 'well, thanks stars for aligning to save me a few bob'.

YES - absolutely?- some?people DO impulsively buy because they see a SALE sticker or a bargainous bundle.?There's no doubt about that.?

Some people.

But are those the clients you really want?

Put another way - meet the same 'me' a few years ago.

I bought nothing BUT sale items.?I bought things BECAUSE they were on sale, rather than because I really wanted them.?I bought things that didn't even fit properly because they were on sale.?

And then... I left them to languish in a cupboard somewhere, gathering dust (those brown, lace trousers... shudder... I'll never know what I was thinking...).

I would never have invested in coaching back then either - because I didn't value myself, and I didn't see the value in spending on myself.?Although I might have jumped in on a deal, out of curiosity.

So the thing to ask yourself before becoming the bargain basement option is -?do you want to be attracting clients who have THAT level of enthusiasm for your service??(I'm guessing NO?).

If I'm right, you really care about what you do and?you?want people who are fully on board with what you offer - because they SEE the bells and whistles.?

They see just how magical you are -?and they would more than happily pay double what you're charging now, just?to work with YOU.?

You are the shiny, super-duper, easy peasy, lightweight, magical cordless?vacuum to their toddler-trashed, crumb-strewn, never-as-perfect-as-I-want-it-to-be residence.

When you step into that level of confidence, you realise that there's no NEED to discount.?

Because the right people don't require you to give more, for less.?

They require you to charge?appropriately?to be able to show up for them with 100% energy, 100% commitment and 100% enthusiasm to support them every step of the way.

And if discounting would lead you to feeling like you were giving any less than 100%, because it left you a teeny, tiny bit resentful... would that feel good?

So as you may have guessed, there are no Black Friday deals happening with my coaching packages.

They're worth every penny and more.?

And that's why?they're going up at the end of the year - because I want to be able to give 100% to my clients and know that they're 100% committed, too.?

So before YOU decide which way to go with your pricing,?remember to ask yourself - do I WANT to do this??Is this where I want my business to be headed?

Believe in your worth and the right people will see it.

Be more shiny vacuum.
