Should You Hire Different Agencies for Different Tasks?

The advice not to put all your eggs in one basket is quite famous. Each and everyone receives it at some point. One of our clients decided to act on this principle. He thought that if he entrusted digital marketing to different agencies that would use various technologies and approaches, he would achieve more tangible results. Thus, he commissioned one team to develop the website, entrusted PPC to another, and gave SEO to us. There was also no warning that we work in parallel with other agencies.

I will not delve into details of how the truth came out - the mere description of the results will suffice. Of course, each agency did its part, and the client got what he wanted. The website was created and promoted with the help of SEO and PPC. Moreover, the result was not that bad - at first glance.

?? The truth became known then, and we conducted some additional research. The numbers were disappointing. It turned out that the client wasted a lot of time and money. Why? I will give you just a few reasons at different stages of work.

1???Research

Each of the three companies conducted its research before proceeding any further. They studied the market and competitors, identified the target audience, identified the ?pains? of the client, etc. Such research takes time, of course. The expenses fall on the client, which means that he paid for the research three times.

2???Website development

In the website creation process, the emphasis was on the beauty of the design. I have to admit that the site looked very impressive on the outside. But when my team started SEO work and audited this site, we found numerous technical issues that were difficult to fix. As a result, a lot of effort went into correcting mistakes that were avoidable in the first place.

?? That is why I strongly recommend that you immediately include SEO experts in the team at the stage of website creation. Even if you can't afford to work with a big SEO agency right now, hire at least one specialist. An expert will give you helpful recommendations that will further simplify the whole SEO promotion. 3???Website promotion

The client started promoting the company immediately after the website creation - PPC (Pay-per-click) and SEO services went simultaneously. The PPC company did a good job. But the advertisement failed to produce any results. Visitors came to the site but did not order anything: they could not quickly find all the necessary information, order form, or contacts. When people don't see what they need right now, they don't stay on your website. That's why you can't run PPC campaigns without the approval of SEO specialists.
